Welcome to the Developing teaching and Learning group which combines those interested in a variety of aspects of teaching and learning including teaching learning for gifted and talented students, using ICT in the learning process and other topics. You will be expected to shape the tasks to your area of interest and specialism.

10 The Action Research Project
There are five components of this programme
1. An online bank of materials and discussion forum. You will be expected to spend at least two hours per week on this.
2. A voluntary workshop programme for those that can attend Trent Park (L200) sessions.
3. A continuous reading log and commentary. Reading Periods are half terms, and winter break, and Easter periods.
4. A tutorial support programme to support assignment construction. You need to contact your tutor and book these.
5. Your own personalised and focused portfolio of practice based activities and research which includes:
1. A portfolio of case study tasks and data (about 6000 words)
2. A focused action enquiry project including (about 6000 words)
Completion and submission of the portfolio is September 8th 2011

Behavioural Teaching through Direct Instruction and Explaining |
Task 5 Read pages 1 – 4 of 'Pedagogy and Practice', then do Task 1 page 5 – adapting it to suit your school circumstances. Read to page 11 and then do task 3 or 4 p13 followed by the reflection of the portfolio task. |
