peer-support model

Posted by Anthony Skip Basiel at Mar 28, 2011 11:38 AM
Hello Midwheb colleagues -
I am happy to see such a quick response to a student's request for help (Thanks Tarek). This shows that we really are providing a 'learner-centred' online learning system.

May I encourage all participants (face-to-face or by web video conference) to try to get at least one 'study partner' to work through your concerns and issues. A peer support network will provide you with a stronger learning experience.

If you do not have someone to share your draft work with yet - please do try to connect with someone on the day. Or - if you have someone from your school that understands your study that is also good.

See you on the day.
Dr. Anthony 'Skip' Basiel

some questions

Posted by Jacqueline Schembri at Mar 29, 2011 04:23 PM
Hello everyone

Thanks for this conversation.

Here are just a few questions I would like to post before the session but I'm sure many others will come up before then.

1) What if our school does not have an ethics policy ? There is only a 'code of ethics' document which applies to all schools in the country.

2) Should the list of OU six questions (filled up with the recorded observations) be part of the procedures section or maybe it should be put in another section ?

3) Should the reference list or bibliography be put at the end of the literature review or at the end of the whole assignment, including all references in the assignment ?

Thanks

some questions

Posted by Deborah Woolley at Mar 30, 2011 02:01 PM
Yes I have some questions:

1) Like above, I would like clarification regarding the bibliograpy? at the end of units or at the end of the whole project?

2) As I am carrying out the Action Research unit do I use the headings and word count as displayed in the Action Research document online? (I have been doing this but just wanted to check)

3) How many appendices do we have to attached? do you just require a sample of lesson plans? oberservations?

I will no doubt have a lot more questions....... but the following is more to do with when we have finished..

4) What is the hand in date and do we send this electronically or a hard copy?

5) When do I find out about applying for the 3rd year course? (only as I have to speak to my employers)

Many thanks

Deborah

Collection of questions

Hi all,
this is good to see such a quick response to the session ahead on the 6th, and I just wonder if it would help if I create a list of questions which i'll update and allow us to work through one by one?

I'll add a link here to something that can be edited and added to as we approach the 6th

Where can I see samples of what a dissertation looks like, particularly with research included ? I have initiated research but I am struggling to visualise the form of my dissertation once the work is ready.

Thanks

using photographs

Hi

To what extent is it possible to use photographs as part of the evidence when the research is considered to be confidential and the subjects remain anonymous ?

Thanks
