Dissertation Module PDT 4045

Posted by Suzanne Thrower at Feb 03, 2012 04:49 PM
I am sorry to ask but I am getting a little confused. I have enrolled on the above module but I am unsure as to whether we are supposed to attend the Uni at any stage, whether we are to attend on line at set times and whether the dissertation has to be an action reseach project?

Dissertation Module PDT 4045

Posted by Hamish Scott-Brown at Feb 09, 2012 10:57 AM
Hello Suzanne,
there are workshops and sessions as planned by the dept - these can be seen from the timetable published at the front page of this cohorts area. I'll add a link to the timetable of planned workshops in a post in a minute - attendance online is not monitored but we recommend that you use this area for posts and questions, module related discussions etc just as you are doing - that's good - we create discussions that are related to the sections of the module that would be being tackled as we progress through the year.

The module (Dissertation) can be done through an AE project and I'd be happy to see you do this for your chosen topic as you mailed me this yesterday. We allocated supervisors to each student (this has not been done yet as we like to see the topics coming in) but we will be allocating both supervisors and Learning sets which I'll explain in an email to all. Of course you don't need to go via the AE route....you could use another method.....it's up to you but we like to see AE being applied in both the AE module and the dissertation - sometimes its a very sound route to take

Also in addition to my earlier request, how do we edit a post? Doesn't seemt to be an option available after posting? On the Lonoco site we always had 30 mins to edit a post.

This system does not allow edit after a post has been made - AFAIK

Raj

we cannot finalise a 'title' but need a fully completed plan submitted in the pro forma - can you send your plan to your supervisor please who will then read through this, consider its merits and feedback to you on its validity.

Your supervisor is Bernadette Clinton and she will have emailed you a welcome email in the last few days
