Many researchers find this the most interesting element of their MA studies, don't forget to discuss and share your thoughts with others in the group. Alison

Research with Children

Hello
Has anyone read Research with Children, Perspectives and Practices (<a href="http://www.ewidgetsonline.com/[…]/a>)

I was going to ask if anyone had read this. I am looking at approaches to listening to children to find out what they think. I think Participatory Research may be a useful approach. This book seems to discuss issues of childhood and the changing social definition. This is interesting compared to this presentation by Keri Facer (http://www.futurelab.org.uk/[…]/keri_facer_conference_paper.pdf).

I am also interested in work around asking children 'stupid' questions and getting stupid answers.

I haven't read this but it seems to be very relevant to your research. How's it all going?

looks good. Mostly going well, seems there is more to read as the research goes on is it me or is it just the cycle of AFL?

Always more to read. You just have to stop to get the work finsished.

Action research cycles are therefore not really accurate beyond a simple level (unless you take the view of not reading as some do).

Happy New Year to all.

Iam still reading but still need to do more. I am now beginning to formulate questions for my survey. I need help on how to go about this. I know that I did a survey for the action enquiry module. Alison, could I email a copy of the types of questions I will be asking as your comments would be much appreciate.
Thank you

I find that after reading and getting my references etc my literature review is nearly 50 pages long. I am now finding it very cumbersome to synthesise. Has every finished? Am I really behind with my work and research?

You may be able to summarise, but at this point, as time is limited, it may be best to move on and work on your analysis and the rest of your dissertation. Having completed you may be able to edit your literature review.
