Welcome to the Action Enquiry Group for September 2009. We define Action Enquiry as a project that involves teachers working as developers and researchers, implementing what is known as best practice in a specified area and using data to discover what happens, to inform the professional practice of teachers. The module will also introduce you to research methodology and procedures. A module guide will instruct you on what to do. The discussions below will guide you and support your critical analysis. This module is good preparation for the final dissertation. At the "face to face" group we discussed the guide, the plan format, and looked at some dissertations as examples, describing them like this. We also looked at Robson's slides. We recommended the executive summaries. Examples are also below. January 2010 |
