Plans in by June 7th please

Firstly we'll need everyone to begin thinking and considering what areas and topics they'll be researching and we'd like to have your draft plans in by June 4th at the latest.

This will give everyone time to initiate the research after spending the period over the summer covering their critical reviews of the literature .  Within the timeline (which we are just agreeing over now [May 23rd/24th] ) we  can map out using milestones and a GANTT chart where you'll be at any point and it's a good way to keep on target for completion of the module.

The resources can be found here and I'll update and create a link to the timeline once we have agreed this.

I've created this conversation as an area that we can use to discuss and share everyone's plans or topics. We still have some time before hand in so let's open this up publicly as an area to discuss any issues or questions surrounding the topic of your plan.

Hello Hamish,
I can't seem to download the powerpoint Research book recommended for us to read. What am I doing wrong?

Problem solved Jessica - thanks for the info - might be an idea if we can delete the extra account? Otherwise it could get confusing again later on.
I'll speak with Ian and consult the 'technical manual' :-)

The PPts are simply some key points from Robson's book Jessica - do you have the text?

I cant really diagnose the problems from the slides that you are trying to download without seeing or really knowing what errors you get - can you be specific?
When you click the link : http://www.blackwellpublishing.com/[…]/powerpoint_slides.asp
...what happens? do you not receive a message asking to either save the slides or open them in PPT?

Plan past the deadline

Hi,

I'm afraid I've literally been too busy as it is assessment, parents review etc (I've also been securing a new position at school)to logo on. The I had some difficulty with my account but that's all sorted now.
My initial thoughts about my plan is to focus upon our current school provision. I think I'll need to explain our set up in order to be understood. I'm a Year 7 Inclusion Group Teacher and I currently teach a Year 7 SEN group of students in Beaumont Hill Special School. We are co-located with a mainstream Primary and Secondary school. My Class is on the mainstream corridor and my group accesses 75% of their timetable with mainstream peers. I team teach a subject known as Opening Minds with my mainstream counterpart. My SEN group contains ASC, SLD, MLD and SEBD students. This year has been extremely succesful to such a degree that we are rolling out the provision into Year8 and 9.

This Inclusive ethos has lead us to question our SEN provision and to question why our provision is so 'SEN label' focussed. This year, with the exception of PMLD and ASc youngsters with very low cognition, our Key Stage 3 and 4 are having mixed SEN classes. My focus is to establish the need for a CPD programme both in the SEN school but also in the mainstream Secondary School. I would the like ot set up a CPD programme and re assess the same focus at the end of the academic year.Is this a valid plan?
