Partnership Certificate Programme
Modules for the “Middlesex Partnership Certificate”
This new initiative is for partnership delivery of modules by schools, consortia and other partners as an alternative to our standard 60 credit Developing Professional Practice module. It can also encompass programmes led by agencies such as the National College. (See below)
Students may register as associate students and undertake partnership based or led modules.
1. PDT xxxx Professional Practice 30 credits at level 6
2. PDT xxxx Developing Practice 30 credits at level 7 (M)
These are specially designed modules for partner delivery and can be used to progress to MA Education. Candidates successful on these modules will be provided with a Middlesex University Partnership Certificate and Transcript.
The fee for these modules is half of the fee for a 60-credit module (see below).
Professional Practice Portfolios
Module 1 above (Professional Practice), is assessed through a professional practice portfolio of evidence displaying the QAA level 6 descriptors derived from the programme learning activities and module learning outcomes (1-5).
The portfolio will show evidence of:
• Needs analysis and justification
• Planning professional learning activities, implementation/application to practice, and evaluative research
• Evidence that the planned programme has been implemented
• An analysis of personal learning and impact
The indicative word limit for the portfolio is 6000 words (or equivalent in non text forms)
Candidates progress to the linked module, “Developing Practice” to convert this work to masters level.
Candidates that have the equivalent to a professional practice module portfolio can retrospectively claim 60 credits at level 6 through an APEL recognition process. Please apply for details to i.terrell@mdx.ac.uk and for the information.
The fee for these modules is half of the fee for a 60-credit module (see below).
Retrospective and Concurrent Professional Practice Portfolios
There are many Professional development Programmes organised by schools, and other agencies such as the National College for Leadership, who coordinate the MLDP and other programmes.
Candidates are strongly recommended to concurrently register for the Professional Practice module to receive the best advice about portfolios and credit. However, it is possible, on payment of the module fee to arrange for a claim for credit after the programme , on the production of a portfolio to our specifications.
Please contact the programme leader i.terrell@mdx.ac.uk
