Philip has had a very varied teaching career, having taught across the entire age range from children in nurseries to young people at further education institutions, mainly in London and the south east.
He has worked on various DfES/DCSF projects and strands, including the development of quality assurance systems for study support, extended schools, supplementary schools and Advanced Skills Teachers. For the past five years, Philip has also been working with voluntary and community organisations, exploring how they can work with schools to deliver higher standards of educational and care for children and young people.
Philip has extensive experience working on national programmes supporting teachers in their career paths. He has been advising a number of national and local community organisations to develop their own models of accelerated leadership programmes for teachers.
He is particularly interested in how individuals and educational institutions develop personal and interpersonal strategies for effectiveness and sustainable impact. Philip is also a Cabinet Office accredited Customer Service Excellence Award assessor and is particularly keen to promote dual use concepts in the design of schools.
